Tom Jaffee - CEO and Founder
Tom Jaffee founded Match Events, Inc. in January of 2001. The company has grown from a one-man start-up to an efficient nationwide operation, with more than 150,000 customers and 150 Event Organizers who have hosted thousands of events in more than 70 cities across the United States and internationally.

Tom began after recognizing that singles needed a faster and more enjoyable way to meet. At 8minuteDating events, singles in a common age and interest group gather at a popular nightspot to have "8 Great Dates in 1 Fun Night!". The evenings include a series of brief and comfortable one-on-one conversations that enable participants to quickly decide if they'd like to meet again. The events are highly successful: approximately 97% of 8minuteDaters report that they enjoy the events, 90% meet someone who they want to see again, and scores of happy customers have credited their marriages and engagements to

Business people face a similar challenge: it's difficult to meet and engage in meaningful conversations with the right people, or to follow up with contacts afterwards. And at business functions, people often find themselves spending too much time with a small group rather than establishing multiple contacts throughout the function. To address these needs, Match Events built on its expertise in facilitating connections. The NetworkingMatch system enables highly efficient and effective networking events that dramatically increase the chances that participants will make valuable business connections.

Prior to, Tom founded - 'The No-Brainer Trainer', where he wrote, produced and marketed a library of training CD-ROMs and videos that teach people how to use Microsoft software. WinStruct's products have been sold nationwide at chains including Costco and Best Buy, with new computers from IBM, through the Microsoft Press catalogue and in many other locations. Prior to, Tom held engineering and marketing positions at Martin Marietta Aerospace, Johnson & Johnson, and Microsoft Corporation where he was one of the four Product Managers who launched Windows 3.0.

Tom holds an MBA from Columbia University, and a BS in Engineering from Tufts University.
